Adolphus ('Doll') Liddell, (1846 - 1930), a member of the late-Victorian
upper class set known as the 'Souls,' was madly in love with
Laura Tennant. She married champion cricketeer and tennis player
Alfred Lyttelton instead. Several years later, he lost another love,
D. D. Balfour, to the widowed Alfred Lyttleton. Liddell never married.
